APPENDIX B
SELECTED SCRIPTURE PRAYERS
Introduction
Here are some more scripture prayers. These prayers can be
given in faith, releasing God to do for us and others what he
yearns to do. Insert the person or persons' name(s) as was done
in Appendix A. These scripture prayers were selected by Romans
VIII Evangelistic Association of Joshua, Texas. Suggestion: use
the Amplified Bible.
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
he leadeth me beside the still waters. He
restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths
of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea,
though I walk through the valley of the
shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for
thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they
comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me
in the presence of mine enemies: thou
anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth
over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow
me all the days of my life: and I will dwell
in the house of the LORD for ever. (Psalm
23)
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the
most High shall abide under the shadow of the
Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my
refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I
trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the
snare of the fowler, and from the noisome
pestilence. He shall cover thee with his
feathers, and under his wings shalt thou
trust: his truth shall be thy shield and
buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the
terror by night; nor for the arrow that
flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that
walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction
that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall
fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy
right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and
see the reward of the wicked. Because thou
hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even
the most High, thy habitation; There shall no
evil befall thee, neither shall any plague
come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give
his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in
all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in
their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against
a stone. Thou shalt tread upon the lion and
adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt
thou trample under feet. Because he hath set
his love upon me, therefore will I deliver
him: I will set him on high, because he hath
known my name. He shall call upon me, and I
will answer him: I will be with him in
trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
With long life will I satisfy him, and shew
him my salvation. (Psalm 91).
For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth
cometh knowledge and understanding. He
layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he
is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. He
keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth
the way of his saints. Then shalt thou
understand righteousness, and judgment, and
equity; yea, every good path. When wisdom
entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is
pleasant unto thy soul; Discretion shall
preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:
To deliver thee from the way of the evil man,
from the man that speaketh froward things;
(Proverbs 2:6-12).
For the upright shall dwell in the land, and
the perfect shall remain in it. But the
wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and
the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.
(Proverbs 2:21-22).
So shalt thou find favour and good under-
standing in the sight of God and man. Trust
in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean
not unto thine own understanding. In all thy
ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy
paths. (Proverbs 3:4-6).
My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear
unto my sayings. Let them not depart from
thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine
heart. For they are life unto those that
find them, and health to all their flesh.
Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of
it are the issues of life. (Proverbs 4:20-
23).
And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon
him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding,
the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit
of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;
And shall make him of quick understanding in
the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge
after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove
after the hearing of his ears: But with
righteousness shall he judge the poor, and
reprove with equity for the meek of the
earth: and he shall smite the earth: with the
rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his
lips shall he slay the wicked. And
righteousness shall be the girdle of his
loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his
reins. (Isaiah 11:2-5).
Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect,
in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my
spirit upon him: he shall bring forth
judgment to the Gentiles. I will go before
thee, and make the crooked places straight: I
will break in pieces the gates of brass, and
cut in sunder the bars of iron: And I will
give thee the treasures of darkness, and
hidden riches of secret places, that thou
mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee
by thy name, am the God of Israel. (Isaiah
42:1-3).
No weapon that is formed against thee shall
prosper; and every tongue that shall rise
against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the
LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith
the LORD. (Isaiah 54:17).
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me;
because the LORD hath anointed me to preach
good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me
to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim
liberty to the captives, and the opening of
the prison to them that are bound; To
proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and
the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort
all that mourn; To appoint unto them that
mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for
ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the
garment of praise for the spirit of
heaviness; that they might be called trees of
righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that
he might be glorified. But ye shall be named
the Priests of the LORD: men shall call you
the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the
riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory
shall ye boast yourselves. For your shame ye
shall have double; and for confusion they
shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in
their land they shall possess the double:
everlasting joy shall be unto them. (Isaiah
61:1-7)
Praying always with all prayer and
supplication in the Spirit, and watching
thereunto with all perseverance and
supplication for all saints; And for me, that
utterance may be given unto me, that I may
open my mouth boldly, to make known the
mystery of the gospel, For which I am an
ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak
boldly, as I ought to speak. (Ephesians 6:18-
20).
But we all, with open face beholding as in a
glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into
the same image from glory to glory, even as
by the Spirit of the LORD. (2 Corinthians
3:18).
And God is able to make all grace abound
toward you; that ye, always having all
sufficiency in all things, may abound to
every good work: (2 Corinthians 9:8).
But my God shall supply all your need
according to his riches in glory by Christ
Jesus. (Philippians 4:19).
But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus
from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up
Christ from the dead shall also quicken your
mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in
you. (Romans 8:11).
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God,
they are the sons of God. (Romans 8:14).
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our
infirmities: for we know not what we should
pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself
maketh intercession for us with groanings
which cannot be uttered. And he that
searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind
of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession
for the saints according to the will of God.
(Romans 8:26-27).
Nay, in all these things we are more than
conquerors through him that loved us. For I
am persuaded, that neither death, nor life,
nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers,
nor things present, nor things to come, Nor
height, nor depth, nor any other creature,
shall be able to separate us from the love of
God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
(Romans 8:37-39).
And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath
enabled me, for that he counted me faithful,
putting me into the ministry; 1 Timothy
1:12).
I exhort therefore, that, first of all,
supplications, prayers, intercessions, and
giving of thanks, be made for all men; For
kings, and for all that are in authority;
that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life
in all godliness and honesty. For this is
good and acceptable in the sight of God our
Saviour; (1 Timothy 2:1-3).
For this cause we also, since the day we
heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and
to desire that ye might be filled with the
knowledge of his will in all wisdom and
spiritual understanding; That ye might walk
worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being
fruitful in every good work, and increasing
in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with
all might, according to his glorious power,
unto all patience and longsuffering with
joyfulness; (Colossians 1:9-11).
Continue in prayer, and watch in the same
with thanksgiving; Withal praying also for
us, that God would open unto us a door of
utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ,
for which I am also in bonds: That I may make
it manifest, as I ought to speak. Walk in
wisdom toward them that are without,
redeeming the time. Let your speech be alway
with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may
know how ye ought to answer every man.
(Colossians 4:2-6).
